Meet The Team

Our Truffle Dogs

A truffle orchard flourishes only with the help of a skilled dog to uncover the hidden treasures beneath the earth. Our two Lagotto Romagnolos—a rare and revered Italian breed with a history of truffle hunting dating back to 1540—are the heartbeat of Seek No Further Farms. Proudly descended from a long line of truffle hunters, they carry the legacy of their late father, Rico the Truffle Dog, who hailed from Mazara del Vallo in Sicily, Italy.

Now, meet the next generation of truffle hunters—our loyal, expertly trained companions, ready to continue the search for nature's most coveted delicacy.

Elio

Elio, born on June 11, 2018, began his truffle training as a puppy. At just 7 months old, he found his first truffle at Kendall-Jackson Winery's truffle orchard. Since then, his skills have flourished during hunts at Lucky Monkey Farms, a small orchard in Mendocino County—an activity he thoroughly enjoys. Many of the truffles he uncovers are sold to renowned Napa Valley restaurants, and he’s also showcased his talents at live truffle-hunting demonstrations for prestigious winemaker dinners, including Penfolds and Stag’s Leap at Silverado Resort.

Miuccia

Miuccia, a spirited Lagotto Romagnolo also born June 11, 2018, is an aspiring truffle hunter with a nose for adventure. After spending her early years in Georgia, she now lives in the Pacific Northwest, embracing its natural beauty. Miuccia loves reuniting with her brother Elio at Seek No Further Farms, where she trains in a young truffle orchard, swims in the pond, and chases squirrels. At home, she delights in forest walks during fall, snowy play in winter, and refreshing river swims in summer. With Miuccia, every season is filled with excitement and joy!
